Series 3 and Series 3+ can share the same band and charging base, so appearance alone is not a reliable way to tell those two apart. Use the tracker information in the Fi app or the original order confirmation.
Start with two facts: which Fi tracker you have and how your dog will wear it. Choose the path that matches the gear your dog already uses.

The Compact Adapter can place a Fi Series 2, Series 3, or Series 3+ tracker on a compatible collar or harness for GPS and geofence use. For Fi 3+ health and behavior tracking, the device must hang from the dog’s neck and move freely by its endlinks, so choose the collar-only Fi 3+ Behavior Adapter when that behavior-tracking position matters.
Fi trackers and EDG gear are separate unless the product title specifically says the tracker and subscription are included.
You receive the custom collar built for the selected Fi generation. Move your existing Fi tracker into the collar. The tracker is not included.
You receive the adapter for the selected tracker and gear width. Your collar or harness and Fi tracker are not included.
Only the EDG listings that explicitly say “tracker and six-month subscription” include the tracker. Collar or adapter gear is selected separately, and the listed $20 activation fee is not included.
Elite Dog Gear is continuing Fi Ultra development, but no EDG Ultra collar or adapter is currently listed as ready to order. Customers with Fi Ultra should not select an accessory made for another Fi generation. Contact us if you want help planning a future Ultra setup.
